“When we illuminate the road back to our ancestors, they have a way of reaching out, of manifesting themselves...sometimes even physically.”

Raquel Cepeda, Bird of Paradise: How I Became Latina

Art + Dreams + Imagination
ANCESTORS

For many of my clients, it is no longer sustainable to compartmentalize life and follow a life routine that holds very little meaning or feeling. My clients are seeking depth-oriented, embodied, creative and expansive exploration of the parts of themselves--they are curious about their potential beyond the patterns that limit their growth. Therapy is the place where my clients are invited to awaken to their sense of self and activate their own inner intelligence to dream again and thrive.

  • Is this for me?

Many of my clients with anxiety and depression share experiences of:

    • imposter syndrome

    • feelings of isolation

    • a strong desire for validation

    • people-pleasing

    • difficulty with taking space

    • perfectionism

    • toxic relationships to oppressive systems/organizations

    • fear of abandonment

    • otherness; “survivor’s guilt.”

    • invisibility around their intersecting identities

    • any other experiences that contribute to anxiety and depression

  • Not your ordinary psychotherapy.

I am a collaborator with my clients. You are the expert on your own experience and how you are feeling. I believe inside each of us is a divine inner wisdom that desires our attention—it wants to work with and connect to us. My experience as an arts-based therapist has shown me that we have access to a powerful, creative, and imaginal world beyond our rational minds. I work with you to develop a treatment process that focuses on your goals unique to you.
    No Arts Experience is necessary!

A session can look like this:
    Talk therapy
    • Ancestral exploration/veneration
    • Mindfulness and writing
    • Guided drawing and journaling
    • Dream analysis
    • Exploration of unconscious material with oracle & tarot decks
    • Music and sound
    • Guided meditations to access feeling states gently
    • Exploring parts of yourself
    • Building skills to increase self-awareness and self-acceptance
    • Psycho-education on the impact of trauma
    and other processes

  • Inviting in the Ancestors to therapy may assist with...

    • Reconnecting to Ancestral energies, narratives, and practices that ground you and strengthen you.

    • Reimagining one’s relationship with oppressive systems.

    • Restoring family systems that have been eroded by generational wounding and historical harm.

    • Recommitting to abolish internal patterns of thinking and external behaviors that support and uphold systems of oppression.

    • Reframing the conversation around mental health and wellness to include systems of oppression.
